FLY INTO TERRACE

The newly expanded and renovated Northwest Regional Airport services both Terrace and Kitimat and is less than a 10-minute drive to downtown Terrace.  Air Canada, West Jet, and Central Mountain Air operate several direct daily flights to Vancouver. Rental car outlets can have a car ready for you at the airport.  Taxi and shuttle services are available.

Plan Your Flight

Road Tripping

Highway 16 is the leading touring route that brings you from Vancouver to the south, and Alberta to the east and connects us with our neighbours to the west in Prince Rupert. If it’s your first time in Canada, there is no better way to explore beautiful British Columbia. With many friendly communities along the way, there are many gas, food, restaurants and diesel stops. Ensure you keep your fuel tank full for those long stretches between towns.

Don’t forget to keep your camera handy as this drive is home to more wildlife than anywhere in BC!

If you have the time, hop on a BC Ferry and enjoy a mini-cruise along the province’s west coast, from Port Hardy at the northern tip of Vancouver Island to Prince Rupert.  The 220 km drive from Prince Rupert to Terrace is one of the most scenic drives in BC.  Check Drive BC for road conditions before and during your journey.

Plan Your Road Trip

Should you require a vehicle, there are many trusted car rental businesses which offer visitors a variety of options for transportation, including vehicles equipped for winter driving.
