Theatre Alive’s 50th Anniversary Showcase Celebration
The R.E.M. Lee Theatre Alive (1985) Society warmly invites you to join us in a special evening of celebration as we mark 50 years of the R. E. M. Lee Theatre – which has been and is a cornerstone of the arts, culture and community in Terrace since its doors first opened in 1975.
Named in honour of Dr. R.E.M. Lee, an advocate for education and the arts in BC’s Pacific Northwest. Dr. Lee was also one of the primary movers behind the creation of the theatre. Our theatre has stood for five decades as a gathering place for creativity, performance, and connection. To support and sustain this legacy, Theatre Alive was formed in 1985 with a mission to foster and promote the arts in our community, and to raise funds for the ongoing upgrade and enhancement of the R.E.M. Lee Theatre.
Thanks to the efforts of Theatre Alive and its supporters, the theatre continues to evolve as a space that inspires and supports local talent. This celebratory evening will showcase performances by some of our favourite performers and long-time community members who have showcased their talents on our stage. These special performances will be highlighted by Theatre Alive’s longstanding contributions made to the theatre — a testament to what our community can achieve when we invest in the arts.
