7-Day Itinerary

Day 1
Explore local rivers, look for wildlife and take in the towering rock faces and waterfalls while on a guided jet boat tour.
Pack your camera and take home photos of some of the most rugged and exquisite hidden places in the region.

Day 2
Ride on! From family-friendly trails right in Terrace itself, to more technical trails on Terrace Mountain, Copper Mountain or Spring Creek. Check in for trail status on trailforks.com or visit the Terrace Off-Road Cycling Association’s website torcanorth.com and Facebook pages for local intel.
Need gear or a tune-up? Hit up Wild Bike, R.E.D. Cycles or The Fix Café and Cyclery.

Day 3
Take your time exploring the sensational collection of murals and public art in downtown Terrace. Don’t forget to stop in at the Terrace Art Gallery, Red Raven Gallery or the Terrace Visitor Centre to pick up locally made art and gifts.

Cap off your day with a craft beer at Sherwood Mountain Brewery or go for cocktails at the Skeena Bar.

Day 4
It’s always a good day to get out on the links at the Skeena Valley Golf and Country Club. Located at the foot of the towering Copper Mountain range, this 18-hole golf course is a stunner. Walk it – or rent a cart.
Enjoy a fantastic meal courtesy of the 37 Grille located in the clubhouse – famous for its huge burgers, fish and chips, and giant, delicious salads.

Day 5
Head out to the Picnic Site at Lakelse Lake or Furlong Bay Provincial Park where the sandy beaches are perfect for relaxing and swimming or launching your paddle board or kayak.
Check-in with Unbound, Kickstart or Canadian tire for paddle boards, kayaks and gear.

Day 6
Terrace is the perfect home base for both river fishing and charters on the ocean. Depending of what time of the year you are visiting, you can cast your line for an array of salmon species including Sockeye, Chinook, Coho or even Steelhead.
If you are looking for some expert advice, check in with a licensed fishing guide such as West Coast Fishing Adventures, The Skeena Spey Lodge or Nicholas Dean. Many local guides not only take you out for incredible fishing, but offer beautiful lodging, catering and exceptional northern hospitality.

Day 7
Experience the rich cultural history of the greater Terrace area. Explore the downtown core and see any number of murals that have been painted in collaboration with Indigenous peoples from around the region.
Take a visit up to Coast Mountain College where you can see Waap Galts’ap (the Community House) or visit the All Nations pole in the centre of campus. You can find gifts made by Indigenous artists at the Terrace Art Gallery, Red Raven Gallery and Sandpiper’s Boutique.
Located just west of Terrace in the community of Kitsumkalum, stop in at the House of Sim-Oi-Ghets, a long-house inspired building where you’ll find all sorts of works by regional artisans and connect with folks from the community to learn more. You can also find a towering totem pole there.
