Lakelse Lake Picnic Site

Camping & Parks

A Perfect Day by the Lake

Just 15 km south of Terrace, the Picnic Site is a favourite family beach with easy, accessible routes, tall trees for shade, and a roped swimming area on Lakelse Lake.

A covered picnic shelter and washrooms make it simple to settle in for the day, while the nearby Group Campsite accommodates reunions, team events, and other group or community gatherings.

The Picnic Site is open from mid-May to September. Use the map below to help plan your visit.

Accessibility & Amenities

Hard-surface paths and ramps connect parking to key facilities, including the picnic shelter, beach, and washrooms. Expect shade from mature cedar, hemlock and spruce, plentiful picnic tables, and day-use conveniences in a compact footprint.

A roped swimming area is maintained here (no lifeguards).

The Picnic Site beach and covered area are open year-round; park gate hours operate seasonally (typically 7:00 a.m. – 11:00 p.m. in the summer).
