Furlong Bay Provincial Campground just might be the most beautiful campground in northern BC.
The park’s main hub for camping, lakeshore picnics, and easy walks—19 km south of Terrace on Hwy 37. Furlong Bay fronts a broad sandy shoreline with mountain views and connects to short, family-friendly trails beneath old-growth cedar, hemlock, and spruce. The day-use area includes covered picnic space and an amphitheatre, with a Visitor Centre near the entrance.
With fishing, boating, and seasonal ice cream treats, there’s something for everyone. Perfect for families, adventurers, or anyone seeking a memorable northern BC getaway.

Furlong Bay offers more than 150 vehicle-accessible campsites, including electrified sites, set among mature forest.
Facilities include washrooms and showers, sani-station, amphitheatre, picnic areas/shelters, playground, EV charging, and a roped swimming area at Furlong Bay.

Plan ahead
Book during the operating season and plan for busy summer weekends.
- Season & Gate hours: Park gate typically open May until early September (7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. daily) – be sure to confirm dates & times with the park.
- Swim zone: Roped area at Furlong Bay and the picnic site; no lifeguards.
- Pets: Leash required at all times; no pets on beaches or in buildings.

Visitor Centre, Rentals & Concessions
The Visitor Centre at Furlong Bay operates in season and offers snacks and ice cream and a small assortment of camping supplies.
Kayaks and standup board rentals are available during the open season.

Trails & Accessible Features
Twin Spruce Trail: Self-guided loop through coastal old-growth, starting near the campground/day-use. 2 km, easy.
Furlong Bay Campground Loop: 3.9 km easy loop used by walkers and runners.
Accessibility: Furlong Bay includes accessible washrooms/showers, paved routes in parts of the day-use/camp loops, and EV charging near core services.
Getting here
Lakelse Lake Provincial Park is located approximately 20 km south of Terrace on Highway 37. From the junction of Highways 37 and 16, it is:
- 14 km to Gruchy’s Beach
- 15 km to the Lakelse Lake Picnic Site
- 19 km to Furlong Bay Campground
