Whiskey Jack presents Stories & Songs of Stompin’ Tom – Canada believe in your country tour

Who: Duncan Fremlin will host each show, starring Tom’s band Whiskey Jack, Juno nominated Douglas John Cameron and Stompin’ Tom’s long time fiddler from PEI, Billy MacInnis. Very special guest for all shows will be Seán Cullen. More guests will be announced at a later date.

What: Stories & Songs of Stompin’ Tom begin their 13th year in 2026 singing songs of defiance and hope, some by Tom and some by other Canadian songwriters. Since 1990 when Whiskey Jack and Tom first began to work together, his message to Canada has been simple: “Keep ‘er Canadian b’y, we need ya!”

    BACK STORY

The idea for the show was conceived during their Covid-interrupted tour in 2020, “Stompin’ Tom’s Canada Meets Seán Cullen’s Comedy”. One fan wrote “That was the most Canadian show I’ve ever seen. I wish it didn’t have to end.”.

Whiskey Jack’s 25 year professional and personal relationship with Stompin’ Tom form the heart and soul of this show. You will hear “Bud the Spud,” “Sudbury Saturday Night,” and “The Hockey Song” and if there’s a song about your community, you’ll hear that too. Included will be songs written by Tom especially for this occasion: Believe In Your Country, It’s Canada Day, Up Canada Way, C A N A D A, Unity and more.

As the evening’s musical director, Fremlin is also a raconteur with a wealth of fun and personal stories to share — some from his best selling book, My Good Times with Stompin’ Tom.

Seán Cullen is a triple Gemini and Canadian Comedy Award winner and is known across Canada for his unique comedy, acting, writing and musical talents. He has made multiple appearances on The Tonight Show (NBC) and CBS’s The Late Late Show and has a number of his own specials including Comedy Central Presents, Comedy Now and was a finalist on NBC’s Last Comic Standing.

Some of Seán’s acting credits include the series Slings & Arrows, feature films Saint Ralph and Phil The Alien and he starred as Max Bialystock in the Canadian production of Mel Brooks’ runaway musical hit The Producers.
Seán also wrote and starred in his own series The Sean Cullen Show on CBC, and is a regular guest star on The Comedy Networks’ Match Game. In addition, Seán is an award-winning author for his Hamish X series and The Chronicles of the Misplaced Prince novels.

Seán and Whiskey Jack began performing their unique brand of Canadian humour shortly after Tom died in 2013. Their first show began with Sean telling the audience “Tom wrote songs about potatoes, tomatoes and tobacco but sadly, never about poutine”. Within minutes in front of a sold out crowd, he and the band created I Love Poutine. It brought the house down!
