Rotary Club of Terrace Wild Duck Race
Featured Terrace Riverboat Days Event
Come out and watch 4,000 rubber ducks drop out of a helicopter into the back channel of the Skeena River near Ferry Island. Once they hit the water, the ducks will race to the finish line downstream. These intrepid ducks will be then rescued from the Skeena by brave volunteers in riverboats. Each duck has a band on its neck corresponding to a Duck Race Ticket number. If your number matches the first duck, you can win $25,000!
Date: Monday, August 4
Time: Approx. 10:00 am
Location: New Bridge, between Walmart and Ferry Island
Cost: Free to watch, $20 to purchase a race ticket
Sponsors: Canadian Helicopters, Safeway, Canadian Tire
Proceeds from tickets sales are contributed to worthy community projects. This is a popular event and tickets sell out fast! Look for Rotary Club members selling tickets throughout the community prior to Riverboat Days. If tickets are still available, Rotarians will also sell tickets along the parade route and at George Little Park on Saturday, August 2nd.
Note: Traffic on H16 bridge will be reduced to single lane, alternating traffic.
