Current Postings
This is a full-time position between 35-37.5 hours per week. This position is well suited for an outgoing individual who is self-motivated and can work with a team of like-minded people. The Visitor Service Councilor works from the Visitor Centre or our Mobile Visitor Centre. Reports to the Executive Director through the Visitor Centre Manager.
Duties and Responsibilities
Not limited to the following:
- Works directly with the Visitor Centre Manager, under the supervision of the Executive Director, to promote Terrace as a top-tier tourism destination.
- Collaborate with Visitor Centre staff, and community groups to supply remarkable experience for our visitors.
- Supply visitor information and supporting information to our visitors.
- Conduct merchandise sales from the Visitor Centre or Mobile Visitor Centre.
- Participate in facilitating community events.
- Supports content development work for social media and marketing campaigns, under the Visitor Centre Manager’s supervision.
- Distributes visitor information print materials to local establishments and our stakeholders.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision.
- Must have excellent communication skills, both oral and written; ability to confidently answer visitor questions and tell the story of Terrace.
- Ability to solve problems with a positive attitude.
- Must have excellent customer service skills.
- Be between 17-30 years of age.
- Must be willing to work all weekends.
- Must have a valid social insurance number at the start of the employment and legally be allowed to work in Canada following relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
Working Conditions and Salary
This is a full-time summer seasonal position of 35-40 hours per week including weekends with Visit Terrace. The position will pay $19.00-$21.00/hour depending on experience.
