What are your main reasons for choosing to live in the Terrace area?
My first introduction to the northwest was in 2004. I spent 3 field seasons driving around, camping in recreation sites, and looking for a fungus that grows on trees. I was captivated by the rich forests, mountains, and streams of the area. The town of Terrace was one of my favourite stops. What I remembered most was how friendly the people of Terrace were. I knew I would be back.
In 2008 I decided to call Terrace my home. Terrace has everything – great recreational opportunities, shops & restaurants, Coast Mountains, a ski hill, and university!
What advice would you give someone who has never visited Terrace about our winter activities / summer activities?
Suggested winter itinerary:
1. Go to Elephant Ear Bistro and get your favourite hot beverage
2. Make the beautiful drive up to Shames Mountain
3. Shred it up!
4. Burger and fries at Blackstone’s Restaurant
A list of summer ideas:
1. A trip to the Skeena Valley Farmers market – fresh produce, crafts, and chutney!
2. A dip in Lakelse Lake or make the drive to Red Sands Beach
3. Fishing at Ferry Island Municipal Campground or fly fishing on Lakelse River
4. Bike ride to Furlong Bay or Kelanza Creek Provincial Park
5. Hiking: Sleeping Beauty Mountain, Maroon Mountain, Wasatch Mountain…
